Alizee: Oh I spent an hour going to the Inland Revenue Department.

Charley: What do you mean, you were supposed to go to the Company Registry.

Alizee: Ohh . . . right

Charley: Yes exactly, the Companies Registry which is responsible for providing services for the incorporation of local limited companies and the registration of non-Hong Kong companies.

Alizee: I see.

Charley: Make sure you go to the Business Registration office too.

Alizee: What’s that?

Charley: The Business Registration Office, under the Inland Revenue Department, administers Business Registration. The Business Registration Office is responsible for registering businesses carried on by an individual, a partnership, a local limited company or a non-Hong Kong company. I knew it, you would do this mistake haha French people!

Alizee: haha thank you, yes I couldn’t really make the difference!

Charley: No worry, you will remember this place because make sure you go there annually to make sure your company does not expire. Business Registration and annual returns need to be renewed every year and your accounting auditing has to be renewed every 12 months.

Alizee: Okay, thank you so much for all this information, I mean after waiting 1h for nothing I will remember where and when to go!

Charley: No problem, good luck!
