46100 Royal Scot - on the East Coast Main Line (DBLM Steam)

The Steam Dreams excursion from Colchester to Chesterfield and Barrow Hill hauled by LMS Royal Scot class locomotive 46100 Royal Scot and captured passing Lolham on the East Coast Main line, just north of Helpston Junction, 8th May 2024. It's a rare warm and sunny spring-like day and I'm hoping the slightly late-running charter train will be seen and heard catching up time here at the foot of Stoke Bank and following the 20mph restriction between leaving the 'Midland' line and becoming the northbound 'slow line'.
After some good sound in the distance the supporting diesel makes its presence heard - but I'm not complaining as this is 2024 and we still have steam on possibly the premier main line. It's a very pleasant sight even if not a dramatic one.
The eagle-eyed of you may have noticed a maroon class 47 skulking by, almost unseen, in the opposite direction - a working not immediately obvious on RTT. Don't mistake the whistle from the 'Scot' as a friendly 'Hello' to the opposition - it will, instead, be a warning to any walkers crossing the foot crossing, even though the route was closed and wiped out over twenty years ago!
