This song is a Ritual or Novena offered to Sto. Niño de la O. It is celebrate by the month of December 16-24 after the Missa de Gallo and the afternoon. The song was derived from the "O" antiphons in Latin which we sing "O Sapientia" (Dec 16-17), " O Adonai" (Dec 18), "O Radix Jesse" (Dec 19),. " O Clavis David" (Dec 20), "O Reins" (Dec 21), "O Rex Gentium" (Dec 22), & "O Emmanuel" (Dec 23-24). This Song of this Novena is presumed to intimate a lullaby of its mother Nuestra Señora de la O (Mary) to his son Jesus Christ ( Sto. Niño de la O) while he is in her womb.
The family who is sponsored of the Novena wears a Bandana. The mother and father jiggles the Sto. Niño and their children was holding the candles while chanting. The other devotees are holding the stem of a plant while chanting at the same time. It is the way of thanking Nuestra Señora de la O for giving them a blessing, for giving them a child.
