Garage Project co-founder Peter Gillespie talks about the gamble of doing something different with no money and how brewing got under his skin.

Just last year Garage Project celebrated its 10th birthday which gave Peter a moment to stop and reflect.

“Anyone who’s set up a business will appreciate just how crazy it is, and the pace that we set ourselves was so fast – we did 24 beers in 24 weeks, a new beer a week for six months.”

But Peter isn’t complaining – having worked in the brewing industry for 10 years before setting up Garage Project, he’s always loved beer and is glad he got the chance to pursue ideas he had bubbling away.

“When you’re working in a brewery and you’re producing the same beer over and over again, there’s a real science to that, it’s a real skill to be able to do that and a real learning process, but Garage Project was an opportunity to scratch that itch, to produce new beers.”
