ঢাকা-দিল্লির সম্পর্কে টানাপোড়েনের কারণে ভারতে বাংলাদেশি পর্যটকদের যাতায়াত একেবারেই কমে গেছে। এতে চরম অনিশ্চয়তায় পড়েছে কলকাতার ব্যবসায়ীদের জীবন-জীবিকা। শহরের বড় একটি অংশের ব্যবসা-বাণিজ্যে কার্যত ধস নেমেছে। এ অবস্থায় শনিবার জরুরি বৈঠক করে, বাংলাদেশিদের জন্য দ্রুত ভিসা চালুর দাবি জানিয়েছেন ব্যবসায়ীরা। পাশাপাশি নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিতে সবকিছু করার কথা জানিয়েছেন তারা।

This has put the lives and livelihoods of Kolkata's businessmen in extreme uncertainty. Business and commerce in a large part of the city has practically collapsed. In this situation, the businessmen held an emergency meeting on Saturday and demanded the immediate introduction of visas for Bangladeshis. They also said that they would do everything to ensure security.
