In solidarity with the National Protest Day called by the All India State Government Employees Federation (AISGEF), Nagaland government employees rallied outside the Civil Secretariat in Kohima. The Nagaland National Pension System Government Service Employees Forum (NNPSGSEF) and the Confederation of All Nagaland State Service Employees' Association (CANSSEA) demanded the abolition of the National Pension System (NPS) and the restoration of the Old Pension System (OPS). Employees criticized NPS as a market-linked scheme lacking guaranteed security, and opposed the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) as a rebranding of the current Contributory Pension Scheme. Additionally, they called for the formation of the 8th Central Pay Committee to ensure timely pay revisions starting January 2026, citing rising living costs.
