We are again in Sopot, Poland at the Baltic sea in in northern Poland.

Sopot is part of the Tricity area, along with Gdańsk and Gdynia, and has a population of approximately 37,000 people. Sopot is well-known for its role as a major Polish seaside resort and its long tradition of hosting cultural events.

One of the city's most iconic landmarks is the Sopot Pier (Molo), which stretches 511.5 meters into the Baltic Sea which we will also see on this walk. For actually stepping onto the pier check out our longer tour (2019):    • Walking in SOPOT / Poland - Monte Cassino ...  
This length makes it the longest wooden pier in Europe. Originally built in 1827, the pier is a popular spot for walks and offers panoramic views of the coastline.

On our walk around the city center we will also see another unique feature: the Crooked House (Krzywy Domek)is a visually distorted building located on Monte Cassino Street. Built in 2004, it has become one of the most photographed spots in the city due to its unusual, warped architecture.

Additionally, Sopot's beaches are some of the most visited in Poland, drawing thousands of tourists each summer. Here at the end of summer in September there are still a few people enjoying the water on this sunny day. The city’s health resort tradition dates back to the 19th century when it became known for its spas and some therapeutic facilities. Today, it remains also a destination for wellness tourism in Poland.
