Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers are a declining bird species in the UK, and rarely seen. I was given a tip off by a birdwatching friend that he’d seen a few Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers here in Bushy Park, South West London/Surrey area so I couldn’t resist swinging by when driving home from a weekend trip. I searched high and low for a tiny bird. Did I go home excited or disappointed?
