So if you have Black Magic ATEM Mini and you have found your way how to work with it, it is all right, however this is brilliant and affordable device to make your live stream look more professional, it has some issues, basically it would be wise to sell it with instructions what cables you should and shouldn't use other wise you can end up in situation that you think that ATEM mini is broken, because you don't have signal, only hdmi 1 port works etc.

Well long time ago I made video how I make my atem work with all sort of cables, 15M, 10m, 5m, and the main thing is that the only hdmi 1 port is really reliable if you want to use 15 M hdmi cable, with rest of the ports there will be all sort of problems.

But a few months ago I did quite a research, where there were a lot of suggestions how to overcome issues with no signal, blinking signal etc., and the problem is kind a complicated and may be resolved by different ways, however there were some interesting hdmi accessories for sale on ebay:

They are not that expensive - less than $5, considering other options and they do not require additional power supply or a lot of space, so I decided to try them and buy a couple to see if they can help!

So on my video you can clearly see that with this hdmi repeater you can not only extend your hdmi cable to 6m, but even to +10m, and you can use even more than one hdmi booster in to the line to extend the cable and signal!

So far I have been using these hdmi repeaters, not only to extend cables to lengths you usually would not get from basic hdmi cables and atem mini, but as well to fight another problem that I had noticed using ATEM mini, well when I had all 4 inputs in, sometimes there were some glitches with one camera, it started to black out occasionally, what is very bad if you are live streaming, so to fight this I actually extended the cable and added this HDMI repeater in the line and it fixed the problem!! So no more problems during live streams with ATEM Mini!!

To be honest this is probably not the best solution for long run, but if you are not supposed to use same setup for years, then this is quick fix that can help a lot and will defiantly save you a lot of money on cables, converters etc.
