🔊 No more wonderful GTO-VVVF traction sound! Guangzhou Metro Line 1 Siemens-Adtranz train! (Type A1)

The Adtranz-Siemens Modula train (also known as Type A1 train or "Daxi 大西") on the Guangzhou Metro Line 1 was made by Siemens and Adtranz from 1996 to 1997 in Germany. This train type is equipped with GTO-VVVF traction, which has a really nice sound. Since 2021, Guangzhou Metro has started refurbishing the trains and the AEG-Adtranz motors have been replaced with CRRC-made tractions, two of the trains also received PMSM and SynRM tractions respectively. At the time of recording, most trains have been refurbished and only 5 out of 21 original train sets remain. On 2023/10/27, the last non-refurbished train officially retired from Line 1. This means there are no more trains equipped with GTO-VVVF from now.

廣州地鐵1號線安達西門子模組化列車（內部編號為A1，別稱「大西」）在1996-1997年於德國製造，列車配備AEG及安達製造的GTO-VVVF牽引系統，在運作時會產生一個震撼而美妙的聲音。由2021年起廣州地鐵為這款列車進行翻新工程，並更換國產的牽引系統，其中2列更配備永磁(PMSM)及磁阻(SynRM)電機。拍攝時21列列車之中只剩下5列尚未翻新的列車，最後一列未翻新的列車已經2023年10月27日正式退出運行，影片中的GTO-VVVF聲音從此消失。
