Here's the next one from our Bidrohi Kobi Rabindranth from , Swarchhanda- Ek Sangeetotsav 7th Annual Concert held recently at the Bipin Chandarpal Auditorium, Chittaranjan Park in association with Probhas Kalyani Priti Trust, Hazaribagh and Dr Amitava Mukherjee.
As Amitava Da wrote in his review- Anindita Sett's gifted presentation of “Giribala” from “Manbhonjon” was as impressive as it could be, a story presaging in 19th Century Bengal, where Tagore rebels against the social edits to presage the 21st century POLICY OF NO-FATERNIZATION. The woman to whom Giribala’s husband Gopinath has capitulated, Lavanga, with the reputation of performing to perfection the part of a lass languishing in hopeless love with gorgeous genuineness. Crushed by the harsh truth of her disloyal husband, Giribala paradoxically finds peace by entering her husbands’s work place in acting, snatching the freedom to be anyone she wants to be. Breaching through the commands of her orthodox life, Tagore’s Giribala re-defines her own life on new terms.
Here's a glimpse of the first part of the awakening of Giribala as portrayed by Anindita Sett followed by a rendition from #TeamSwarchhanda
