Transcript: Today we're going to talk about abrasive wheels.

An abrasive wheel consists of particles bonded together to form a solid surface which can be used for sharpening tools or for cutting. Injuries can be caused by exploding wheels, ejecting materials causing eye damage and the dust produced can cause fires and explosions & the dust may also be toxic and causing respiratory illnesses.

There are a number of safety precautions that can be taken for example - You can provide training to employees, so they use the equipment safely, the wheel should be maintained to ensure that it's in good condition, the guard should be in place and users should wear eye and ear protection. Wheels should never be used on the side and ensure the wheel is within its use by date and that it rotates at the correct speed for the machine.
