Zebby Matthews Bolsters Twins ‘Late 8’

Minnesota Twins prospect Zebby Matthews had another eye-opening outing last night. Here’s a look at some highlights of that performance, as well as an overview of Matthews’ impressive numbers on the year and rankings across the minor leagues.

Zebby is one of a group of gems the Twins have identified in the draft I’m calling the Late 8, which are eight starting pitchers the Twins have selected in the eighth round or later over the past few seasons. Joining Matthews in that group are Cory Lewis, C.J. Culpepper, David Festa, Pierson Ohl, Brent Headrick, Louie Varland and Bailey Ober.
