Skate or Die 2 (NES) - Warehouse Theme (All Instruments Cover)

Here's a deep cut from Skate or Die 2 on the NES, the theme for the warehouse in level 4 of the adventure. It's a deep cut because the adventure part of this game was somewhat difficult to make it to this last area, which is probably more confusing than the rest of the game!

I played all the instruments here, taking some liberties with the drumming which is nothing more than kick and snare on the game. I decided to throw in double kick on the second go around as well as a few improvised fills to match the intensity changes of the melody. The bass line is pretty in the pocket for an NES game, I suspect it might have actually been composed at least with a real bass in mind.

For the tapping guitar track, I'm not sure if the composer would consider this melody a keyboard part, a guitar part, or a weird percussion part, but I had to play it as tapped guitar as I can't play up and down 16th note arpeggios for nearly 4 minutes as this track required! In the video, I tapped with my index finger on my right hand as practicing the song with my middle finger almost caused it to get a blister. I double tracked the tapping. The tapping is just three different power chords, rather unusual.

I triple tracked the melody guitar with three different effects. The melody really goes all over the fretboard with a handful of tension building chromatic notes thrown in, and a few big bends and slides, really fun to play!
