Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa (1836 - 1886) was one of the great spiritual masters of India during the nineteenth century. He was a mystic saint and enlightened guru who translated complex spiritual concepts into lucid and easily intelligible manner. He was the guru of the world-renowned monk Swami Vivekananda.

About Surendranath Mitra:
Surendranath Mitra (1850 - 1890) was one of the prominent devotees of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. He came from a very prosperous background and had the fortune of sponsoring the expenditures of the Master and his devotees when the Master lived in Calcutta in his last days.
