The Irish Government has said it will continue to raise accusations of human rights abuses against China's Muslim minority Uighir people with Beijing and at the United Nations.

The UN has expressed concerns about arbitrary detention in so-called re-education centres in Xinjiang province.

The Swedish clothing giant H&M has halted sourcing cotton from the region over fears that those who complete what China calls vocational training in the centres are forced to work in the textile industry.

In the second of our special reports from the region, reporter Yvonne Murray tried to get a closer look at these controversial facilities in Kashgar.
