I Made a 3 Panel 1900s Walking Skirt

Описание к видео I Made a 3 Panel 1900s Walking Skirt

Hi Friends!
In this video I'm making a late victorian walking skirt. I think it actually turned out to be a little more Edwardian than victorian but oh well.

time stamps:
00:00 intro
00:24 pattern talk
2:22 cutting
8:04 construction
11:10 placket
12:21 waistband
16:57 hem
19:51 reveal
21:18 final thoughts

A few notes that probably no one will read:
-from my research, using French seams on cotton walking skirts was done in home sewing in the 1890s
-yes, I know the single box pleat in the back was very uncommon
-yes, I know I didn't add tarlatan or any kind of stiff material in the hem, that was a choice
-no, I don't thread my needing on the first try every time (especially when filming)

materials:
one full? size flannel sheet
thread
beeswax to wax the thread
polyester ribbon
hooks and bars and a small sew in snap

Sewing machine used:
1951 Singer 201-2
my hands
