ACT 2 takes place in the vast swamps of the super-continent Pangaea during the Carboniferous Period, in a world ruled by giant insects. Meet Protoclepsydrops, the first of the amniota - four-limbed animals recently evolved from amphibians who can lay the first hard-shelled eggs.
Protoclepsydrops is the original pioneer in the movement to dry land, and is the great-great-grandfather of two historic lineages - the reptiles and the mammals.

Ghosts of Hell Creek is Prehistoric Body Theater’s flagship project, an epic dance-theater piece which tells a 500-million-year-long story of our evolutionary origins. The work is told in four acts, each act featuring a unique prehistoric animal and moment in Earth’s history. Deeply informed by the latest paleontological science, the choreography is both wildly organic in its realism and yet elegantly stylized with our foundations in Indonesian traditional dance. The work is staged like a mesmerizing diorama with an immersive clay-textured set. Dancers wear full-body clay makeup with iconic prosthetic elements, activated by a lavish atmospheric lighting design and a bassy soundtrack undulating with primeval soundscapes and experimental gamelan percussion.
