Keyboards are the foundation of all computer interaction. In this lecture, we explore how every key on your keyboard has a unique purpose, from typing words to controlling your entire computer system.

You’ll learn how the keyboard is divided into functional groups—each designed for a specific role. This lecture explains the logic behind QWERTY, how modifier keys like Ctrl and Alt work, and why lock keys such as Caps Lock and Num Lock are so important in everyday computing.

Alphanumeric keys: letters, numbers, and symbols for text input.
Modifier keys: Shift, Ctrl, Alt, and their role in shortcuts.
Number pad: quick numeric entry and calculator-like functionality.
