Описание к видео How to Master 3 Different Types of Presentations

I'll be showing you how to master eye during presentations on this week's episode of MasterTalk. Register for one of my FREE communication trainings: https://www.rockstarcommunicator.com/

1. Memorized Presentations (0:57)

For the record, I do not recommend presenting in this way, unless you’re an absolute beginner and every time you have to present, you’d rather just hide in a corner and never be found. What I like about this type of presentation is it forces you to structure your ideas since you need to write the entire speech in full, word for word in order to memorize it. This is great for people just getting started out in public speaking and what I’d recommend here is choosing a topic that you’re incredibly passionate about that you can present multiple times e.g. solving a problem for someone else like I do with public speaking. his is how to master 3 different types of presentations.

I’ve personally learned a lot from memorized presentations, despite how little of them I gave in my life, mostly around French poetry I had to learn by heart for my high school classes a long time ago. It taught me a lot about pronouncing words perfectly and with the right vocal tone variation since I couldn’t improvise given how rigid the format was, but the biggest benefit is I had the courage just to present in front of someone without panicking too much here.

2. Prepared Presentations. (2:41)

Assuming that you’re using the same speech from the 1st step, now let’s talk about prepared ones. This type of presentation is pretty much the same content as a memorized one, but without any memorization whatsoever. You can’t just memorize every little pronoun or syllabus and you transition from every little sentence, word for word to the general ideas of your presentation that you’ve prepared for. This is how to master 3 different types of presentations.

Instead, what you want to be doing here, is making that list of ideas per slide and record yourself or present the same topic and see how you perform without knowing every single word you’re going to say. This type of presentation teaches us how to create a free-flowing discussion with the group, something more personal and informal you just can’t get from a memorized presentation since you’re just focus on every word you need to say or the presentation falls apart.

3. Impromptu Presentations (3:50)

The Olympics of presentations. You got through the memorized stuff, you prepared some great keynotes with some general ideas, and now it’s time for the hardest presentation type in the world.
Presenting for a topic you never prepared for. The key to impromptu is simple yet misunderstood. It’s not about being a 5-year veteran speaker who has dazzled 1000’s of people in crowds.

But rather, the following sentence. “I don’t know what I’m going to say next as much as you do, but through my way of speaking I’m going to CONVINCE you that I do, so that with some practice, you will too.” This is how to master 3 different types of presentations.

One easy way to practice this everyday is what I call the Random Word Exercise, have someone else pick a random word for you and make an introduction out of thin air.
