Today I am gonna share with you some tips to pick your best the lens for the Canon EOS R5 or any camera tbh.

Well EOS R5 is coming faster than we expected.
Hopefully next month we will know more for certain.

If you expecting the EOS R5
It means You are in the market looking for a new camera right.
I would say to you just wait for a few weeks.
Apparently, even Sony is cooking something up.
So you will be in a better position to choose the best and affordable.

If you are looking for a camera.
I bet is not only the camera you need.
You also need a lens.

So how to chose them.

In term of the camera if you are looking top end but the affordable camera then Canon EOS R5 will be the one according to what we know so far.

I personally will choose the R5 because I am a videographer
but also sometimes I take stills too.
So I like the extra possibility the EOS R5 gives me.
With the R5 I have 8K video capability.
I can have up 120 fps in 4K.
For most of the videos, I create for YouTube wow that beyond enough.
Also, Canon autofocus is one of the best in the market right now.
So my choice has been made simple by the fact that
I had struggled with the Panasonic Lumix GH and S series when it comes down to autofocus.
So I chose the Canon EOS R5.
Got EOS R5 in my back.

Now let choosing a lens.

I mean choosing the camera is only half of the story.
You need to choose a good lens that can help you to get the best out of your camera.
Do you know that some lenses are more expensive than the camera itself?
Because lenses are the most important component of your filmmaking gears.
Invest in good lenses. Don’t just invest in a camera and that it.
The camera does not have enough effect on the image quality but your lens does.
Lenses are the only thing that will set apart your images.
Let me help you figure out what lens you need?
What type of videos do you shoot?
What type still you take?
Are sports photographers or portrait shooter.
Are you all in one and want flexibility.
Are you a wide wide wide type of shooter.
Or are you tight close one
or maybe you want to stand in the distance to bring the subject close to you with the zoom.
Anyway, whatever is your preferred option canon got you covered.
Now it will depend on how deep is your pocket because good lenses are renown not to be cheap.

Here are the available Canon RF Lenses in the market now.

If your budget is tight.
You won’t go wrong with a kit L lenses.
There are decent, even now I am shooting with a kit lens.
So what option you have.
The Canon kits zoom lens 24-105mm f/4L which cost about £999/$1,099

But if you want quality and flexibility so the options are endless.
It will all depend on your budget.
Canon RF 28-70mm focal lens with an aperture of f/2 L series it is professional Lens that will set you off to a £2,579.00/$2,999 but that is a very good lens.
or we have Canon RF 24-70mm focal lens with an aperture of F2.8 L is slower than the f2 but almost £300 or $600 cheaper.
But if you want even a wider zoom lens then you gotta chose the 15-35mm focal lens with an aperture of F/2.8 which will cost you about - £2,299.00/$2,299
And then the most prefer prime lens.
We talk about prime is simply mean a fix focal lens.
You got 50mm, 85mm, 100mm and so on.
But nothing comes close to the 50mm and the Canon RF 50mm f/1.2 L series which cost £1,799.00/$2,299
will not let you down.

So you got options to chose from if your budget can allow it.

So what lens I will choose.
I am balancing between 28-70mm and 24-70mm.
My dilemma is should I go for the wider or more f-stop.
I think I will go for wider over f-stop
because if need just little more light then I can bump up a bit of ISO is not going to harm the footage.
My choice is then the Canon RF 24-70mm F2.8 L IS USM - £2,199.00/$2,299 
This lens is the sweet spot between wide and portrait.

You might say wow all these are so expensive.
Well, you are right they are.
Remember what I said early great lens will improve the most cheaper camera tenfold.
