The Best Oklahoma Onion Burger | Ft. Kosmos Q...If they had a college degree for the Oklahoma Onion Burger I would have a PHD in finer burger studies. I have made more onion burgers in my life than I have mistakes and that should tell you something! The original onion burger originated in El Reno Oklahoma back in the early 1900's during the Dust Bowl. Meat was tough to come by and lots of folks had to get creative in order to adapt to the world they were living in. From their ingenuity, the Oklahoma Onion Burger was born. My first job at 13 years old was at the world-famous Oklahoma onion burger restaurant, Roberts Grill. I did everything you can do there ranging from the dishes to the grill. It was where I got my start and developed a love for cooking and for the place I call home, Oklahoma! Don't waste any time on this, head down and read the recipe and make these for you and yours!

Ingredients:
1 Large Yellow Onion
2 lbs of 80/20 Ground Beef
Kosmos Q Texas Beef Seasoning
Yellow Mustard
Dill Pickles
Hamburger Buns
American Cheese Singles

Recipe:
Step 1 - Roll your ground beef into ¼ lb balls
Step 2 - Slice your onions paper-thin. We recommend a vegetable slicer for this step.
Step 3 - Turn on your griddle and allow it to heat up.
Step 4 - Throw your patties on the grill and mash them down just a touch to give yourself a base to drop a pinch of onions on top.
Step 5 - After a couple of minutes of browning smash the burgers to the desired thickness.
Step 6 - Once you start to see the crust developing give them a flip and let the other side cook.
Step 7 - prop up your buns and let them steam over the burgers.
Step 8 - Pull the buns off and top each one with cheese and once it has melted flip the burger over (onion side up) onto each bun. (Pro-tip, put the bottom bun on top so when you flip, your cheese is on the bottom. )
Step 9 - Dress them how you like and blow everyone’s minds!
