On May 13, US crews in Baltimore conducted a controlled explosion to dismantle a portion of the collapsed Francis Scott Key Bridge. The detonations broke the bridge's truss into smaller sections, allowing salvage crews to use cranes and barges to remove the twisted metal wreckage.
