Prunus J-189 AM FM BT MP3 Radio Review

The Prunus J-189 AM FM Bluetooth MP3 Portable Radio isn't your Average fair. I was expecting it to be mediocre on the AM band and found out that it is quite Sensitive. Picking up Denver, New York, Toronto and New Orleans during the evening had me shocked. Audio is Strong when playing FM and MP3s. A perfect AUX speaker source as well. Headphone audio is tops, with great Stereo sound and no hiss. A perfect pickup if the price is right.

Features I like about the J-189:
Numeric Keypad for the Direct Entering in Frequencies. Smart.
Battery is Rechargeable and Replaceable.
Strong Speaker Audio. Better than my V115.
Display turns off after One Minute to save power.
Plays MP3s from Micro SD or USB port.
Standard AUX-In Jack.
Headphone Experience is Up there with the best of them.
Surprisingly Sensitive on the AM band.
LED Light Source.
Sleek Design.
Simple Layout.
Bluetooth.
Comes with Charging Cable.
Decent Price.

Features that could be added or improved on:
Improve FM Selectivity.
Improve AM Quality, a bit of crackling on Strong stations, and RFI from the Display.
Add a fixed Antenna versus using a wire on the strap.

Overall, if this radio/speaker is under $20 it represents a great value for a portable media center with some HUGE sound. I love it for that.
