While dining out, I observed a waitress expertly managing her customers' expectations about additional charges. It was a masterclass in knowing your audience! 🍽️👂 This got me thinking about our relationships with our clients.

As designers, it’s crucial to understand who we are working with. Do we want clients who need every cost spelled out? Or do we prefer those who trust us and see the value in every dollar spent? 🤔💸

Here are a few questions to ponder as you prospect for new clients:
1. Does this client value design as an investment or just another expense?
2. Are they open to creative suggestions, or do they prefer a straightforward approach?
3. How much guidance do they need on budgeting and decision-making?

Understanding these aspects can help us create more meaningful and frictionless relationships. Let’s aim for clients who appreciate the art of design and trust our expertise!
