Dr. Deborah J. Clegg and Dr. Biff Franklin Palmer present topical treatment approaches for the management of hyperkalemia, based upon their review paper "Hyperkalemia treatment Standard" in Nephrology Dialysis Transplantation - NDT, which has been picked by the journal's Editor-in-Chief Dr. Hans-Joachim Anders and by MARKUS @ HOMe editors as our “NDT's Paper of the Month”

Dr. Deborah J. Clegg is Vice President for Research of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso. As a PhD in Nutrition, her clinical and academic work focusses upon obesity, sex hormones, and metabolism, with a specific interest in the interaction between nutrition and physiology.

Dr. Biff F. Palmer is Nephrologist and Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. His academic work focusses upon physiology and pathophysiology of human electrolyte regulation.

Together Dr. Clegg and Dr. Palmer have co-authors numerous papers in leading nephrological journals on potassium disorders.
