If you had bought a new Agilent/Keysight 82357B adapter on eBay, most likely it's a fake with possibly harmful consequences to your computer and electrical safety. These new adapters come with a CD which was created in China by unknown actor and can potentially harbor harmful software. In addition, since these are fake adapters they obviously were not submitted to CSA or CE for testing and imprints of these safety agency symbols on the back of the adapter is a fraud, i.e. adapter was not tested for electrical safety or EMI radiation.
