In The Kidney Project's first Live Q&A of the year, Dr. Shuvo Roy chats with Andy, Linda, and Spencer Mantis, the family behind Mantis BBQ. The idea for Mantis BBQ began in 2019, after son Spencer underwent an unexpected kidney transplant while just in his 20s. The experience motivated the family to finally bottle and sell their famous barbecue sauce to support research into artificial kidney development to benefit patients like Spencer. Mantis BBQ donates 10% of their revenues to The Kidney Project, and hopes to inspire other entrepreneurs with a connection to kidney disease to do the same.
