Today Farmers In Vijayapura Plan To Begin An Indefinite Dharani Satyagraha

Farmers in Vijayapura have decided to forgo Diwali celebrations this year to protest recent Waqf Board notices designating their lands as Waqf property, which they believe is unfair and politically motivated. The protest condemns what they describe as appeasement politics by the Karnataka government, accusing it of undermining farmers' livelihoods through recent Record of Rights changes. The farmers plan to begin an indefinite Dharani Satyagraha from the Siddeshwar Temple to the Deputy Commissioner’s office today.
