My recap of meeting Ariana Grande and her concert experience: I went to Ariana Grande's Kansas City concert at Midland Theater on Saturday, August 31, 2013. It was her last show on her first leg of The Listening Sessions Tour! My friend Brandi came from Arkansas to stay at my house on Friday night! Brandi, my sister Sienna and I all had VIP M&Gs and 2nd row for Ariana's concert! Friday night we worked on our scrapbook and Ariana and her crew started posting videos on Keek and Instagram about ghost hunting in Kansas City and driving around the city. The concert weirdos that we are, we looked up 3 different hotels that she could be staying at to try to match up the curtains that were in her picture. We know a famous hotel all celebrities stay at when they come but we doubt she would be there. We made plans with my friend Katie and her friend Ashtynn to meet up and go stalking the next morning. Katie and Ashtynn got to our 2 first choice hotels first and they walked around and didn't see or notice anything. We picked them up about 9:15 am and headed to the other hotel. When we got there, there was a hotel right next to it with 2 tour buses in front of it and we realized she was staying there. We found it completely by accident! We got there about 9:30 am and walked inside the hotel to go the bathroom then we got on the elevator and wondered what floor Ariana was on. We ran into a girl named Lilly from Boston who was staying there for a wedding and she was on the same floor as Ariana! Lilly told us she left her room to go get a drink and she heard singing down the hallway and saw Ariana and her friend. She didn't even know she was in town or anything. Ariana got on the elevator to go to the haunted houses and she tried to stop her but the elevator was slow. So Lilly took us up to her floor and her room was right next to Ariana's and Ariana's crew was across the hall. Then we traded #s with Lilly and she kept updating us if Ariana or any of her crew came out. We weren't allowed in the hotel so we waited outside all day. Her mom Joan, came out and walked around the plaza to work out. When she came back, we got pictures with her and met her. We didn't tweet them or anything all day because people would find out and start stalking the hotels and find us. Some of her crew like Isaac also came out and we met them. As we were waiting, there were people cleaning out her tour buses and a nice crew member of hers brought us water bottles because it was so hot. We kept asking Ariana's crew if she was ever going to come out. Then around 1:30 pm, a mom and her daughter Haley walked to us. We talked to them and they figured out it was Ariana's hotel. They were really nice and cool! They waited with us the whole rest of the day and then my friend Hana's dad dropped her off and hung out with us too. A group of young teenage fangirls came up to us and asked if it was Ariana's hotel. We told them no and they left. We didn't want people finding out because there was only 8 of us there. The rest of the day, we all waited with eachother and about 4:30 pm one of her crew members said she wasn't going to come out for another hour or so. Our VIP check-in was at 5:15 pm. So we left to go to the venue to check-in for VIP and we met another guy named Jake there that we knew. So then we all went back to her hotel and waited with everybody for a little bit longer. She ended up sneaking out the side and left in a black SUV which passed right by us and she didn't even stop. I felt bad because all the waiting we did for 11 hours was for nothing but it was still fun. As soon as she left, we left to go to McDonalds to get food then go to the concert. Ariana killed it on stage! She was so awesome and amazingly talented. After the concert, we waited for M&G to start! We wanted to be last but we were 3rd to the last group. They didn't allow cameras or cell phones but I snuck my ipod in, hid it under my clothes and recorded the M&G. I hugged Ariana and told her we were waiting outside her hotel for 11 hours and she's like "Oh my God, why do that?! I sleep all day!" and we told her that we loved her and wanted to see her then we took a picture with her! Ariana was SO sweet and SO nice! One of the most nicest, down-to-earth celebrities I've ever met! After we met her, we got a flower and a signed pic and left back to her hotel. I knew she wouldnt be there and obviously she was out again so we left her hotel at 12:30 am and went back home! It was such a long and exhausting day but it was SO much fun! The girl Lilly ended up meeting Ariana when she got back to her hotel, she said Ariana told her she was very tired though! But it all worked out and we were SO happy!
