Museum of the Moon by Luke Jerram

Museum of the Moon is a new touring artwork by UK artist Luke Jerram. The artwork is on display at Thinktank, Birmingham Science Museum from 21 July - 20 August 2017.

The art installation uses detailed imagery from NASA of the lunar surface to create a scale replica of the moon (approximate scale of 1:500,000).

Measuring seven metres in diameter, the installation is a fusion of lunar imagery, moonlight and surround sound musical composition created by BAFTA and Ivor Novello award-winning composer Dan Jones.

The artwork creates an ethereal sight that visitors can enjoy by walking and sit by side of the moon and bath in its own moonlight.

Entry to Museum of the Moon will be included in the Thinktank ticket price.
