6.2L Diesel 50*F Cold Start - w/ Electric Lift Pump & Check Valve

Cold start video #2 of my 1986 M1028 CUCV. The day I bought it, it fired up perfectly. After taking it home, it started requiring excessive cranking and would sometimes stall after starting. I replaced the OEM mechanical lift pump and fuel filter with an electric lift pump, spin-on pre-filter, and spin-on fuel/water separator filter in place of the OEM filter. Big improvement, as seen in my previous video. But it was still having an intermittent start and stall or hard starting problem.

I suspect a small air leak, possibly in the injection pump itself, but since the pump operates well otherwise, I installed a check after the lift pump to prevent fuel draining back to the tank. Starting problems seem to be completely fixed. We'll see if anything changes as the weather gets colder...

Installed a glow plug indicator light and manual glow plug switch in the panel below the steering column. Interesting how long the glow plugs stay on at 50*F after the controller turns the "WAIT" light off...
