How I lean bulk / main gain 💪🏼

💭 What is lean bulking?
The goal of a lean bulk, also known as main gaining is to try and put on as much muscle as possible while minimising the amount of body fat gained. Ideally you want to be in a lean bulk for as possible as this is where you're able to optimally build the most amount of muscle.

Here's 2 ways I'd approach a lean bulk:

1️⃣ The 'optimal' approach
Stay at maintenance for as long as you can until you plateau inside of training. Then increase calories by 50-100 and repeat.

This may be more difficult for those who can't gauge their training properly as strength can fluctuate on a weekly basis causing misinterpretation of a plateau.

2️⃣ The set and forget approach
Put yourself in a 100-200 calories surplus and aim to gain anywhere between 0-200g per week.

This is a much easier method as it ensures you're able to maximise your trainining performance. The trade off is that you won't stay lean as long as the first approach.

❗️Regardless of which approach you choose, the main focus should be on your training. You want to progress and get as strong as you can during this long period of lean bulking.

👉🏼 When is the best time to start a lean bulk?
10-12% body fat.
