On Friday April 12, 2024 at about 8:30 AM, the JCPD Patrol Division responded to an address on Albany Ave in Johnson City, NY for a domestic incident. Officers arrived on scene and during the course of their investigation discovered that the male involved in the domestic was in possession of several illegal firearms. Officers located these firearms and requested JCPD detectives to respond.
Detectives responded to the scene to assist with the investigation. JCPD detectives applied for and were granted a search warrant to perform a search of the residence. During the search of the residence the following items were located:
◼️ 36 illegally possessed pistols of various calibers
◼️ 1 illegal shotgun
◼️ 5 short barreled assault rifles of various calibers
◼️ 1 bullet resistant vest
◼️ A large quantity of high capacity magazines of various calibers
◼️ A large quantity of ammunition of various calibers

The defendant in this case, DeLove Bennett, is currently being held at the Johnson City Police Department. Bennett will be processed shortly and then transported to Broome County Central Arraignment. Bennett is being charged with the following:
◼️ Criminal Possession of a weapon in the first degree, a class B Felony
◼️ Criminal Possession of a weapon in the second degree, a class C Felony
◼️ Unlawful possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device, a class A Misdemeanor
