The 2006 Wake Forest Demon Deacons are arguably the greatest team the Demon Deacons have ever fielded. They capped their improbable season with the school's second ACC Championship, and a trip to the Orange Bowl. Their 11 victories are a school record. They swept in-state rivals Duke, UNC, and NC State. Wake shut out Florida State on the road for the first time in the Bobby Bowden era. The Deacs featured six All-ACC selections, led by Jon Abbate, and Aaron Curry. This team was one of the biggest "Cinderella" stories the ACC has ever witnessed.
