*Additional Proton Pump information: The proton pump that we talked about in this video is more specifically a Hydrogen and Potassium Proton Pump. It works by using ATP as energy, to essentially push Hydrogen into the stomach which binds to chloride to form hydrochloric acid. And during the process, it pulls Potassium out of the stomach. This is why it is often called the Hydrogen Potassium ATPase proton pump. Even this is a simplified explanation of how the H+/K+ ATPase pump works!
