Episode 250: The History Of All Japan Women's Pro Wrestling
全日本女子プロレスの歴史
For this special 250th episode of From The Vault, I decided to do an episode on something I rarely ever talk about; wrestling from Japan(puroresu) & in this case women's wrestling from Japan(joshi puroresu). While you have promotions like Stardom today, from 1968 until 2005, All Japan Women's Pro Wrestling was the premier(and at 1 time the only) women's promotion in Japan. This episode is gonna be talking about the history of this promotion; from a brief backstory of Joshi to the formation of the company, the belts the company had, some of the big names throughout the history of the company(some you've heard of, others you haven't), some matches to check out, some events to check out, the tournaments they had, the reason the promotion is no longer around, & the legacy of AJW. Not the biggest expert on this subject(and never claim to be); but I know a little more than I did before when doing research for the episode & if you make it to the end, you'll know a little more about it as well. Thanks everyone for all your support over 250 episodes; you guys are amazing.
