LOST DECADE: Are The LAKERS The Biggest Let Down Since 2010? Stunted Growth

The Los Angeles Lakers have been of the the storied franchises in NBA history. Behind the Celtics, no team has won more games, but history seems to be all the Lakers have had to stand on since their last, non asterisk championship in 2010. It’s almost 2023 now and in 13 years they’ve managed to win 1 bubble championship in 2020, and looks to have another decade in between winning another. Since 2020 they’ve managed to be eliminated in the first round in 2021, missed the playoffs entirely in 2022 and are currently 2-9 and one of the worst teams in the NBA, looking to miss the playoffs again. This is with a roster of 3 top 75 players of all time on it, 2 former MVPs and 2 first overall picks. Not to mention a player usually argued as the greatest player of all time. Lebron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook. A lot of expectations came with the Lebron move to the team as he was still the face of the NBA, and still seen to be in his prime and able to carry teams to the finals as a default. To his credit he did make the move to the Lakers at 34 years old, when most players that age are well past their prime or even out of the league all together. But things haven't went as planned since his era begin, missing 3 out of the 4 playoffs he was on the team, with the chance to miss another in 2023. What happened to this franchise? Will they ever be great again? Or is this the beginning of another decade of underachievement? LOST DECADE: Are The LAKERS The Biggest Let Down Since 2010? Stunted Growth
