I sat down with moral and social psychologist, Jonathan Haidt, to discuss social media's impact on our human psyche and the effects of "coddling the American mind", which is also the name of his book! In this clip we dug into the nuances of how we should regulate social media and the impact platforms like TikTok and Instagram have on our mental health, especially amongst teenagers and students. I argued for regulating social media the same way we regulate other mind-altering substances, meaning we should even perhaps impose age-restrictions before you can get a Facebook or YouTube account. Am I off base here or do you think we're on to something?
