残波岬は沖縄本島の中西部にある東シナ海に突き出た岬で、高さ約30mの断崖が約2kmにわたって続く絶景の地です。
かつて琉球王朝の時代に、残波岬は明（中国）との交易ルートの玄関口となっていて、そのルートを開拓した泰期（たいき）の像が設置されています。彼は琉球王朝時代に使者として明へ5度も渡り、貴重な文書・物品などを琉球に持ち帰って、明との交易ルートを開拓したことから、琉球王朝時代の「商売の神様」として称えられています。

残波ビーチは、残波岬のすぐ南側に位置する砂浜で、残波岬の荒々しい景観とは対照的な静かなビーチです。
背後にリゾートホテルも建ち、カヌーやペダルボートなどマリンアクティビティも豊富です。

残波岬灯台は岬の先端部に立つ高さ31ｍの白亜の灯台で、全国に16ヶ所しかない「登れる灯台」の一つで、コバルトブルーの海を眼下に望む、沖縄一高い灯台です。
残波岬は沖縄本島で夕陽が最後に沈む位置にあり、沖縄随一のサンセットスポットとしても有名です。

Cape Zanpa is a cape jutting out into the East China Sea in the mid-western part of the main island of Okinawa, with cliffs about 30 meters high stretching for about 2 km, offering a spectacular view.

Cape Zanpa used to be the gateway to the trade route with Ming Dynasty (China) during the Ryukyu Dynasty, and a statue of Taiki, who pioneered the route, has been set up. He traveled to Ming Dynasty China five times as an envoy during the Ryukyu Dynasty, bringing valuable documents and goods back to Ryukyu and cultivating trade routes with Ming Dynasty China.

Zanpa Beach is located just south of Cape Zanpa, and is a quiet beach in contrast to the rugged landscape of Cape Zanpa.
A resort hotel stands behind it, and there are many marine activities such as canoeing and pedal boating.

Cape Zanpa Lighthouse is a 31-meter tall white lighthouse at the tip of the cape, one of only 16 lighthouses in Japan that can be climbed, and the tallest lighthouse in Okinawa with a view of the cobalt blue sea below.
Cape Zanpa is the last place on the main island of Okinawa where the sun sets, and is famous as the best sunset spot in Okinawa.
