Perhaps one of the smallest stonefly, the Yellow Sally, is for me the most effective of the perlids in dry fly (as is also the imitation of its larva for euronymphing..).
The observation of massive hatches being quite rare where i mostly fish ( even those rivers with the most oxygenated and purest waters...) apart from a few isolated individuals, it is no less interesting for trout, on the contrary...
Have you ever seen a huge Yellow Sally hatch..?.. how were the trouts...? were they very selective...? ...please tell me in the comment section...
I personally fish with it most often at the evening, sometimes in the smallest sizes, up to H 18.
In this impressionist pattern of a female with her eggs, the CDC perfectly fills its role of simulating movement at the slightest breath of air, and of course of floating, and, very simple to achieve, this type of pattern can be used for any caddisfly imitation...

Peut être le plus petit des plécoptères ,l'Isoperla grammatica, est pour moi la plus efficace des perlidés en mouche sèche ( comme l'est aussi l'imitation de sa larve pour la pèche en nymphe..).
L'observation d'émergences massives étant assez rare malgré tout (en tout cas dans la majorité des cours d'eau que je pèche régulièrement même ceux aux eaux les plus oxygénées et les plus pures...) à part quelques individus isolés, elle n'en est pas moins intéressante pour les truites, bien au contraire...
Avez vous déjà assisté à des émergences de nombreuses isoperla ?.. Quel était le comportement des truites...? étaient elles très sélectives...? ...dites le moi en commentaires SVP...
Pour ma part je l'utilise le plus souvent aux dernières lueurs du jour, parfois dans les tailles les plus petites, jusqu'en H 18.
Dans ce modèle impressionniste d'une femelle avec ses œufs , le CDC remplit parfaitement son rôle de simulation de mouvement au moindre souffle d'air ,et bien sûr de flottaison , et , très simple à réaliser ,ce type de montage peut tout à fait être utilisé pour toute imitation de trichoptère...
