Linux CPU mitigations on/off • Microsoft Flight Simulator • Intel Haswell

A benchmark recorded with a capture card showing the effect on gaming performance of having the various CPU vulnerability mitigations turned on or off using the "mitigations=off" kernel parameter when running on an Intel Haswell CPU.

Although this installment of the Flight Simulator series is a CPU-heavy game, and the Haswell CPU used here isn't the fastest around, there was no clear detrimental effect to the game's performance on this particular hardware from having the CPU mitigations turned on.

The game is running here on Medium settings at 1080p using Proton Experimental (as of 1 Dec 2022).
