Intro
Hi. I'm David Bromstad. I am kind of HGTV star, and I'm here in Miami Beach doing a luxury real estate conference.

How did you get your start in design? 0:18
I went to Ringling School of Art and Design. I'm a formally trained artist and I got into design because that's what I love. Interior design is a whole different story. I completely fell into that lap by accident. I did my first adult interior design on national television and just happened to win a competition that gave me my own show. Ten years later, still on the network.

What is the best part of having your own show? 0:52
My favorite part of having my own show is that it's something different everyday. I get to meet new and wonderful fabulous people and I'm completely blessed. I went from starving artist to not so starving.

What design tips do you have for staging a house? 1:12
My best advice to give real estate agents who are staging a house is put some personality into it. I mean, listen. Grey, white, beige, all good, but bring some artwork in, bring some personality in because you know what? When these people are looking for houses it's a really huge investment for them and they need to have a moment, like, "Oh, I love that house that had the lips painting." Or "I love that kid's room that was the butterflies." Don't let them leave that house thinking that it was boring.

What tips do you have for building your brand? 1:55
I'm still developing my brand and my brand will continue to always evolve and that's what I could give to advice for all agents is that you're going to continue to evolve. Yes, maybe you want to sell condos. Maybe you want to sell houses, but maybe you want to sell buildings in the future. Don't ever count yourself out of the best thing.
