Let me show you some drills which helped me improve my (far from perfect!) helicopter skills in Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Here, I'm flying the CowanSim R66 with the Immersive Audio sound pack. I'm at Miltech's rendering of RAF Odiham, which is packaged with their CH-47 helicopter add-on.

I'm using a very old, non-centering Microsoft Force Feedback 2 stick with the sensitivity set low. I think I would get further benefit from a more modern stick with an extension.
