If your game World of Warcraft crashes and gives you a fatal error - ACCESS_VIOLATION, Memory could not be read. Follow the steps below to resolve this error.

Try deleting the Warcraft Text Files (WTF)

The WTF folder is found inside the WoW game folder. If you don't see it, check in this directory

World of Warcraft\_retail_\WTF

Just delete the WTF Folder and try to check if it works

The Warcraft text files (WTF) Folder stores game settings, keybindings, and addon configurations.

Sometimes when WoW is bugging out (UI issues, crashes, errors, weird settings not saving, etc.), deleting or renaming this folder forces the game to rebuild it fresh, which often fixes problems.

If you have some custom icons like for abilities, remove them. I used custom icons inside Interface Folder. Interface-ICONS - Removed that and it fixed my issue

Go to World of Warcraft/_retail_/Interface/ folder and delete any custom ICONS folder you find inside. That should solve your problem

Also Turn OFF Optional GPU Features and Advanced Work Submit.

Menu → Options → Graphics → Scroll all the way down to Compatibility Settings → Turn OFF Optional GPU Features and Advanced Work Submit.

Some people also suggested that You also get this crash if you have a resolution scale set to less or more than 100%.

If it all Fails It may be a memory issue, First repair the game, Follow the steps below
🛠 How to Repair WoW
Open the Battle.net Launcher.
In the left panel, select World of Warcraft.
Click the Options (⚙️ gear icon) next to the Play button.
Choose Scan and Repair.
Click Begin Scan.
Wait — the launcher will check your game files and automatically repair or re-download anything that’s broken or missing.

If you’re still getting the Access_Violation error, you might have a faulty RAM stick. Try replacing it with a new one.
