Wilson Fisk, better known as the Kingpin, has ascended to power once again, this time through the political sphere. In Daredevil: Born Again, he secures the mayoral seat of New York City by running on a staunch anti-vigilante platform, vowing to eliminate costumed crimefighters from the city’s streets. This stance pits him directly against the very heroes who have long protected the city from threats beyond conventional law enforcement’s reach.
In Marvel Comics, New York City is the home for several heroes, including Spider-Man, Daredevil, and the Fantastic Four.
