During the summer I took a nice trip down to Leopold, Indiana, to record their "new-ish" 16V1T-B. The town had a nice SD-10 until it broke down with this siren taking its place just a few years ago. You can find this one at the fire station directly where the old one once stood. I made a few recordings of the 16V, but none of them made it to YouTube. Now armed with a drone and a 4K camera, I'm glad I was able to get this much better version up. As for the SD-10, I have no idea what happened to it. I remember there being plans for new paint...but sadly I don't think it materialized. I'm hoping it got saved as it was a pretty historic siren, even from that town's perspective. There's even a photo inside the fire station of the day they put the old SD-10 up.

Sirens in Perry County are tested every Saturday at Noon, Central time, year round. Older sirens on the system are pre-programmed to do a short, noon blast while newer sirens do 30 seconds of alert. During tornadoes, the sirens do a full, five minute cycle.
