Prosecutors are speeding up investigation into the Choi Soon-sil scandal.
They summoned Lotte Group chairman Shin Dong-bin and raided the main office of Cheil Worldwide, Samsung's marketing unit.... and they plan to formally indict three key suspects by this weekend.

Seoul prosecutors summoned Lotte Group chairman Shin Dong-bin at 2 PM Tuesday afternoon as a material witness in the Choi-soon sil scandal.
This is his second appearance in just 57 days, as he was previously summoned to the same office to answer questions on corruption charges in another case on September 20th.
Prosecutors believe that President Park Geun-hye asked Shin and several other executives of leading Korean corporations to help fund two government-linked foundations controlled by her confidante Choi Soon-sil.
They believe meetings between the president and the executives -- including Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong, Hyundai Group Chairman Chung Mong-koo and SK Group Chairman Choi Tae-won -- took place during a period from July 2015 to March of 2016.
Following the meetings, Lotte Group donated six-point-two million U.S. dollars to one of the foundations, K-Sports, in May of this year.
The foundation returned the money to the conglomerate in the second week of June.

Also on Tuesday, Seoul prosecutors raided the offices of Cheil Worldwide in southern Seoul , just two days after questioning the Samsung Electronics vice chairman.
Prosecutors believe that Cheil gave business favors to Choi Soon-sil.
They also suspect that Cheil gave over 3 million U.S. dollars to a German company owned by Choi Soon-sil and her daughter Chung Yoo-ra, which then used the money to fund Chung's equestrian training.

The team in charge of investigating the scandal also seems to have mustered enough evidence to take the case to the next stage:
Prosecutors said Tuesday that they will formally indict three prime suspects -- Choi Soon-sil herself, Ahn Jong Beom,... the presidential secretary for policy coordination,... and Jeong Ho-seong, the president's personal secretary -- on November 19th or the 20th.
