Today we’re talking about the solar panels I have mounted on the north wall that last year used to be vertical at a 90° angle and this year are at a 45° angle to see if we can get better solar production.  we will be using the solar panels to run the pool pump at 1400 RPM and the 17,000 BTU pool heater during the day using solar and at night time using grid. Running overnight will cost around $1.50 a day and $45-$50 a month on my electric bill, that’s not bad for running the pool pump and the pool heater and keeping my pool at 88 to 89° all winter long. So 12 hours using solar and 12 hours on grid power. You will need to have a pool solar cover as well. We purchased these solar panels used for $25 each. The solar panels have water intrusion and discoloration on face of panel but is not affecting my production. I was able to get 2200 watts out of a possible 3000 watts total output. Not bad for $300 in used solar panels. I bought the pool heater a few years ago refurbished for $1200. We will be able to keep or pool heated over the winter in Phoenix AZ at around 88-89 degrees for around $50 a month in electric cost. Hope you enjoy the video.
