For the 9th instalment of "My Echo Beach Travelogue" and the 8th bootleg, I present this performance by the incredible/hypnotic/mesmerising/a myriad of other cliché adjectives which have been used to describe him many times, Colin Stetson, who is certainly one of those performers whose sheer power and intensity is quite indescribable and the experience of watching him live, metres in front of me, creating this cascade of sound with his two saxophones is quite remarkable. I bought my ticket on the day and there was only 1 seat left, in the front row, 3rd from the end on the right. I was going to see Jessica Pratt in Howard's very same Assembly room in Leeds three months ago (November 2024) but it was cancelled on the day (it has now been rescheduled), and I also bought my ticket last minute, and there was also one seat available, and it was exactly the same seat, which is very mysterious - that seat must be cursed or exclusively set aside for me. I remember the person next to me gave me a Revels chocolate before Colin started, which is significant because almost nobody ever dares to interact with me between acts when I am at gigs on my own, which is fine as I am not exactly sociable in real life but it is a little isolating at times, so I remembered and appreciated this gesture.

I appear to have got into the habit of releasing videos once a week on Mondays, which I don't mind sticking with; they do take quite a lot of effort to create as a whole, and I know considering this recording is nearly two years old it won't exactly get thousands let alone hundreds of views any time soon even if I do think it is quite a brilliant performance and recording, though I hope everyone who does watch this enjoys or at least appreciates it. As a matter of fact, this recording was made before either of his two most recent studio albums were released, and they have now been released for 5 months and 21 months respectively. There are a few gigs next week and in the general near future I am thinking of going to so my bootlegs will become less reliant on my archive, and become so new they don't even exist yet, of course there was a time when any given thing did not exist, and as of now this video is one of those things which now "exists".
